Young Effect is a non-profit organization founded in Magenta, in the Milan metropolitan area, with a simple yet ambitious idea: to give young people the tools to discover the world through mobility, Erasmus+ exchanges, culture, and authentic encounters with others.

Our Story

It was 2009. Tiziano Tomassini and a group of friends, tired of the idea that “living in a small town” meant having fewer opportunities, decided to do something concrete. To create an association. A place where youthful enthusiasm could turn into a European project, an international exchange, a real opportunity.

Over more than fifteen years, what began as a passion-driven project has grown into a recognized point of reference for the Municipality of Magenta and the Metropolitan City of Milan. And every time a young person from Magenta boarded a plane for the first time thanks to us, we knew we were doing the right thing.

MISSION

Our mission is clear: to break down the geographical, cultural, and social barriers that prevent too many young people especially those from backgrounds with fewer opportunities from taking part in European civic life.

We do this through concrete tools and opportunities: mobility programmes, non-formal education, Erasmus+ projects, training courses for educators, and international exchanges.

VISION

Our vision is a Europe where “coming from a small town” is never a limitation. A Europe where a young person from Magenta has the same opportunities as someone from Berlin or Brussels.

Team

Young Effect is made up of people before it is made up of roles. Our team brings together expertise in social policy, youth work, European project development, and entrepreneurship.

But the real team is all of us: our volunteers, the participants in our exchanges, and the European partners with whom we build projects. Young Effect is not a closed organization it is an open community for anyone who wants to make a meaningful difference.
