At the charming Biblioteca de La Scala di Giacobbe in Castelletto di Cuggiono, we enjoyed a special day dedicated to physical well-being and an appreciation of the vital role sport plays in daily life.
The highlight of the event was a dynamic, engaging session led by a former professional footballer and a spirited CrossFit trainer, who guided a group of young people through a program of practical exercises, reflection, and shared experiences.
Sport as a key to well-being
Throughout the day, our experts demonstrated how physical activity can serve as an effective tool for managing stress and improving quality of life. Through stretching sessions, breathing exercises, and group activities, participants learned useful techniques to incorporate into their everyday routines.
Personal stories added even more meaning to the meeting. The former footballer shared his experience, discussing how sport shaped his character and helped him overcome personal challenges, teaching him the importance of discipline and resilience. The CrossFit trainer, meanwhile, explained that physical activity is not just about physical well-being, but also a way to find mental balance and motivation.
Sport and social inclusion
This event also sought to highlight the potential of sport as a tool for social inclusion, particularly for young people facing hardship or isolation. Through non-formal education methods, we aimed to convey to participants not only the importance of physical activity but also the value of teamwork, sharing, and mutual support.
At the library, we explored texts addressing sport as a means to build bridges between cultures and foster social cohesion. These books offered food for thought regarding the educational role of sport and its ability to unite people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
A moment to look ahead
The participants' positive energy and enthusiasm reminded us of the importance of creating moments like these, where young people can feel welcomed, heard, and engaged.
This event is just one step in our ESC project, but every small success brings us closer to our goal: offering opportunities for growth and inclusion while building a community that is more cohesive and open to change.
Join us! Sport is just the beginning.
