From April 7 to 15, 2025, our Italian team had the incredible opportunity to take part in the international youth exchange “EUth Digital: Empowering Youth for Tomorrow”, held in the picturesque village of Varbovo, Bulgaria. Organized by the Bulgarian Youth Forum and co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme (№2024-1-BG01-KA151-YOU-000215309), the project gathered young participants from Bulgaria, Italy, Albania, and Moldova.
The exchange aimed to boost young people's digital competence, civic responsibility, and participation in democratic life — topics that are especially relevant in today’s rapidly changing digital world.
Throughout the 7 days, our participants involved in a rich variety of activities, including:
Hands-on workshops focused on digital democracy and artificial intelligence
Engaging role-play sessions simulating EU-level decision-making
Official visits to Chuprene Municipality and the Europe Direct Center in Vidin
A digital theatre production titled “The Great Debate for Digital Citizenship”
Outdoor group challenges and unforgettable intercultural evenings
These experiences allowed them not only to gain new skills and perspectives, but also to build strong bonds with other participants. It was inspiring to work alongside young people who share the same passion for positive change and digital innovation.
By the end of the project, each of our participants had created personal SMART goals and action plans, which they are excited to implement in their communities back home in Italy.
